Customer-Centricity: Way to progress and profitability

The Pune team from DACHSER India reached a milestone by successfully managing over 1,000 import and export shipments in 2021 for a valuable customer -  a class leader manufacturer of heavy construction equipment and earth moving machines.

DACHSER India manages the shipments for all four business divisions of the manufacturer, covering the entire road construction process chain, from processing, mixing paving, compacting and rehabilitating.

The journey between the logistics service provider and the renowned conglomerate started in the year 2011 when DACHSER was responsible for handling air and sea freight import shipments from Germany to India. In 2014, the partnership reached to the next level when DACHSER worked closely with this customer to export Heavy Stone Crushing Machines, one of the prime products of the manufacturer to Germany. 

The customer-centric approach, customized solutions, precise planning and detailed monitoring of the loading of machines at personal level down to the finest details, helped DACHSER India to win regular exports of machines to different countries around the world, encompassing Germany, China, USA and Australia.

The Heavy Stone Crushing Machines were exported to various destinations by Ro/Ro vessels and flat rack containers. From the road,  two cranes were used to offload the machine from the trailer and then it self-propelled into the vessel. DACHSER Pune team had exported 36 Crushing Machines alone in November 2021, the highest number ever in a month.

Delivering value to customer

At DACHSER, the company always aims to sustainably optimize the logistics balance sheets of  the valuable customers. In this case, DACHSER assisted the customer in saving money in annual freight charges commissions by changing the Incoterms and therefore laid a foundation for a strong partnership.

To sum up the success last year, Mr. Bhosale was pleased to share the 2021 annual shipment details of the customer: DACHSER exported 189 Heavy Stone Crushing Machines and managed movement of over 1,600 Air & Sea import shipments across all continents. He gave credit for this success to the DACHSER India teams, the network’s overseas offices and also the company’s highly-committed vendors.
