Jude Crasto to leverage DACHSER’s international network in Bangladesh
Jude Crasto, new Managing Director Air & Sea Logistics Bangladesh, says an excellent international network, strong operational foundations, and high-quality customer service will fuel the market’s growth.
1. How do you feel after the first months in your new role?
When I joined DACHSER, I quickly realized that many people have been working with the company for a long time. To me, that is a clear indicator that DACHSER really takes care of its people.
2. What are your long-term goals for the Bangladesh market?
Given that industries like textiles thrive in Bangladesh, we will focus much of our efforts on these sectors. We plan to fuel growth by leveraging DACHSER’s strong network in Europe – especially trade lanes such as Germany, Spain and France – because business in Bangladesh is mostly driven by overseas companies.
We are also developing more intra-Asia business opportunities, for instance, with companies in China and Thailand. To accomplish these goals, the DACHSER Bangladesh team will need to work closely with the rest of DACHSER’s network to provide interlocked logistics solutions worldwide successfully.
3. Being new to DACHSER, what observations have you made in terms of work culture?
DACHSER is an incredibly far-sighted company that has developed a strong foundation of efficient processes and technologies. As a family-owned company, respect and learning from each other is very important. Flat hierarchies drive communication between all team members. This reflects in the company’s overall operational standards, which we have certainly benefited from in Bangladesh. With such strong foundations in place, we have been able to achieve exceptional levels of service that are crucial for managing large clients.
